OTIS advisor Randy GermanRandy German, MT(ASCP)SBB, discussed “Using Real-time Data to Assess Nonconforming Events, Identify Key Indicators of Quality, and Meet AABB and CAP Requirements in Blood Banks and Labs,” Tuesday. He later demonstrated how his team uses OTIS to track and trend NCEs, and improve performance in their Newport Beach, Calif., hospital laboratory. Deviating from the super-serious subject of QA for a moment, he posed with Nouvation VP Carol Somer for a selfie in front of the Sheraton’s famous “Blue Dog” piano.
